QUETTA – Cricket lovers flocked to Quetta’s Bugti stadium which hosts the first competitive game in more than 2.5 decades, and the exhibition of PSL8 turned sensational as Peshawar Zalmi hitter Iftikhar Ahmed blasted six sixes off an over bowled by Wahab Riaz, the newly appointed Punjab caretaker sports minister.
In the much-hyped action in the country’s mineral-rich region Balochistan, Wahhab Riaz bowled the most expensive over in today’s game as he conceded 36 runs in the 20th over the game that came off the bat of Iftikhar Ahmed.
The Yellow Storm opted to field first against Sarfaraz Ahmed’s Gladiators and posted a 184-run total, and 36 of the runs were made in the last over by Iftikhar who remained in the spotlight for his performance.

The flamboyant hitter ended the innings with 94 runs in 8 overs and his clips of smashing six-sixes went viral on social media.
He sailed the first hit in the square leg; thrashing the second one a bit straighter; hitting the third above Wahab’s head, and sending the fourth flying over the cover boundary. The second last hit was smacked in the third-man region, while he hit the last over the same region.
His heroics also contributed to today’s win as Gladiators outclassed Peshawar Zalmi by three runs in a thrilling finish in PSL exhibition game.
