KINGSTOWN – Afghanistan’s openers Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have broken the partnership record of Pakistani captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
The Afghan opening pair has become the pair with the most partnership runs in a single edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They set this record in the Super 8 match against Bangladesh.
Previously, Babar Azam and Rizwan scored 411 runs as partners in the 2021 World Cup.
Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have made 442 runs in partnership in this World Cup, claiming the record.
The Afghan pair has also become the pair with four fifty-plus partnerships in a single edition of the World Cup.
They have had three century partnerships as well, which is a record for a single World Cup edition.
