MUMBAI – The Indian media on Saturday lashed out at Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over accepting the PCB’s conditions regarding the Champions Trophy 2025.
Indian media criticized not only the BCCI for agreeing to the PCB’s terms but also expressed dissatisfaction with the ICC’s endorsement of Pakistan’s proposal for a tri-nation series.
The Indian media questioned, “Who is the ICC to include the idea of a tri-nation series in its declaration? How can the ICC claim it has no objections? This matter is for the boards to decide as a tri-nation series does not fall within the ICC’s jurisdiction.”
According to the Indian media, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made a demand that contradicted the Indian government’s stance.
It raised the concerns, asking how the agreement was reached when India does not participate in bilateral series with Pakistan.
“If the Indian government’s position has not changed, why did the Indian board not consider this? The media questioned why playing together had been prohibited for so many years,” the media asked.
The Indian media reported that it was not necessary to include Pakistan’s suggestions in the declaration regarding the Champions Trophy 2925. The India media emphasized that Pakistan did not come out empty-handed in resolving the matter related to the tournament.
