Hurriyat leaders urge UN to resolve Kashmir dispute

Hurriyat leaders and parties have urged the United Nations to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hurriyat leaders, including Muhammad Aaqib, Narender Singh Khalsa, Malik Noor Muhammad Fiyaz and Qazi Asrar in their separate statements in Srinagar urged the World Body to settle the Kashmir dispute as per its resolutions.

They reiterated to continue their struggle for right to self-determination, promised by the United Nations to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum Chairman Maulana Musaib Nadvi in a party meeting in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the current worst situation of Jammu and Kashmir.

He also demanded release of all political detainees, including Umer Adil Dar, Muzammil Fayaz Sofi, Basharat Pampori, Moeez Riyaz Khan, Muhammad Ansar Khan, Younis Manzoor Waza, Asim Amin Sheikh, Shahnaz Butt, Ashiq Bashir, Hafiz Irfan, Faisal Ganai, Junaid Ahmed Dar, Showkat Ahmed Ganai. Mudasir Wani, Suhail Bashir, Ubaid Ahmed Pinchoo and Rauf Falahi whose black laws were quashed by the court but they are still facing detention in Srinagar central jail.

He said under the garb of draconian laws, Public Safety Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Modi regime and its armed forces feel free to detain anyone and keep him or her in jails for years on flimsy charges.

He also appealed to the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the matter and use their good offices for immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiri leadership, youth, activists, ulema, civil society and human right activists, languishing in different jails of India and in IIOJK.—KMS
