Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that historic steps have been taken during the three years period of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government in the uplift of health, education, economy, public welfare, employment, development and stability of the country.
“Government’s measures for rooting out corruption and ensuring transparency are also exemplary.”
He stated this while addressing Fakhr-e-Pakistan award ceremony and media. Provincial Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun, Souse of Governor Begum Parveen Sarwar, Rector Superior University Sameera Rehman and Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University Bushra Mirza were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Governor Ch Sarwar conferred awards on Vice Chancellor Punjab University Dr Prof Niaz Ahmed, Vice Chancellor Quaid-i-Azam University Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, GC University Lahore Vice Chancellor Dr Asghar Zaidi, Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof Khalid Masood, DG Punjab HED Dr Ramzan, Mian Imran Masood, Owais Rauf and Haider Amin among others for outstanding services in the field of Higher Education.
Superior University while paying tributes to Deputy Secretary (Late) of Higher Education Department (Late) Sheikh Tanzeel Rehman announced a scholarship of Rs5 million for his children.
While addressing the function, Governor Punjab said that due to transparency and merit, world rankings of Punjab universities are improving and we have not only appointed VCs on merit, but also ensured full merit for other posts in the universities.
He further said: “I have completely eliminated Political Interference from institutions because wherever there is political interference, Institutions get destroyed.”
He said eradication of political interference from Institutions is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan for the government to take practical steps.
Chaudhry Sarwar said that when PTI came to power, there were rumors of Pakistan going bankrupt but the government led by Prime Minister Imran khan not only saved the country from economic bankruptcy by taking tough decisions but also provided financial assistance to deserving families during covid on their doorsteps.
Governor Ch Sarwar said that he pays tribute to Prime Minister Imran Khan for his three years tenure during which he has taken the historic steps in order to get the country out of crises and for the country’s development and prosperity, adding that we will utilize all resources for public welfare.
