A group Calligraphy and Art & Craft Exhibition by Syed Ahmed Shah Abdali, Batool Qureshi, Qasim Ali, Zubaria Qasim, Fozia Shahid, Shabana Babar and Muhammad Azeem Iqbal was arranged under auspices of Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) here on Tuesday.
Member Punjab Assembly Farah Agha inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest flanked by Naheed Manzoor and Director RAC Waqar Ahmed. It was a unique exhibition as Ahmed Shah Abdali displayed more than 30 art pieces of calligraphy and portraits on wood.
Batool Qureshi displayed crafts of decorated vase and items. Qasim Ali and his wife Zubaria Qasim presented photos engraved on mirrors. Embroidery of different kind was displayed by Fozia Shahid while Shabana Babar from Sri Nagar displayed handmade jewelry, Kashmir & Balochi dresses. Muhammad Azeem Iqbal displayed calligraphy depicting Prophet Era.
Addressing at the inaugural ceremony, MPA Farah Agha said that art is the best source to express feelings and the artists are the ambassador of peace. She said that artists must be encouraged on every stage. She further said that RAC has taken appreciable step by providing platform to these artists.
Naheed Manzoor said that it was unique work of its kind. Director RAC Waqar Ahmed said that RAC was utilizing all available resources for the promotion of art & culture. The exhibition will be opened for general public till 25th October 2019 from 10 am to 4 pm daily.
