The increased share of renewables for energy solutions at community and industrial level needs with sustainable finance by public and private sectors.
This would help to mitigate climate effects and reduce vulnerabilities of marginalized segments of the society & ensure sustainable development in Pakistan.
These views were expressed by social & environment experts of district Badin while addressing the participants of Peoples Assembly organized by the Laar Humanitarian & Development Program (LHDP) in collaboration with Grow Green Network & Indus Consortium at Gym Khana Badin on Tuesday.
Addressing the event Abdul Ghafar Khoso, Muhammad Khan Samoon, Oshal Khoso, Dr. Irfan Mirnas, Khadim Talpur, Sanam Abbasi, Abdullah Saraz, Nargis Turk and others said that green financing is important to promote solar solutions at household and community level.
Addressing to the participants they stressed federal & provincial governments to prioritize financing in energy sector & new projects should be launched in its foundation phase.
They said that private finance is very important to achieve the net zero emission target set under Paris climate agreement and national targets set by sitting government.
They deplored that increase allocation in coal would harm the environment and climate in Pakistan adding underlined the need to take tangible steps for developing an effective mechanism which makes banks.
