PML-N leader Attaullah Tarrar on Sunday alleged that the PTI government is using state institutions as a tool to intimidate political opponents into submission but his party will not let the government victimise the opposition with “the state might.”
“The PML-N will not let its President Shehbaz Sharif go to jail again as the authorities neither had any evidence against him in the past nor they have any now.”
Addressing a press conference along with PML-N Punjab Spokesperson Uzma Bokhari, Mr Tarrar said that they will no more let the government play such gimmicks.
“We will thwart all negative tactics of the government against the opposition leadership at all level.”
“The NAB simply put Shehbaz Sharif in the jail without having any evidence. At the time of bail of Shehbaz Sharif in assets beyond means case, the NAB told the court that there was no allegation of corruption against Shehbaz Sharif,” the PML-N leader claimed.
He alleged that the FIA is being asked to arrest Shehbaz Sharif again. “When there was no corruption that what they wanted to dig out from the baseless case,” he questioned.
“Shehbaz has cooperated during investigation with the FIA,” he said, adding that the party will raise its voice in the courts as well as politically.
The PML-N leader alleged that large-scale corruption is being committed in Walton Airport and where the NAB is now. He cited Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal and questioned the role of the NAB.
He vowed that the PML-N would not let fulfill the dream of Imran Khan to arrest Shehbaz Sharif for the third time.
Speaking on the occasion, Uzma Bokhari also criticized the government’s foreign policy and said that the UN has not even invited Pakistan to a session on Afghanistan. “Imran Khan’s only concern is why Shehbaz Sharif is not in the jail,” she added.
