In view of sky-rocketing prices in Pakistan due to inflation and other factors, low-income government and retired employees are facing quite hard times these days. For pensioners, particularly, it is becoming quite a challenge to make both ends meet.
In a statement, the Hamsafar Organisation of Pakistan Ex-employees has drawn the attention of the federal and the provincial governments towards the plight of pensioners and urged the government to announce an adequate increase in their monthly pension in accordance with the increase in cost of living. Founder of HOPE Akmal Zia and President Malik Irshad Ahmed Awan in an appeal to the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance on Monday.
