Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman can better tell that what ‘Amanat’ (top secret) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi maintains. Opposition is wasting nation’s as well as its own time through protest movements as government is not afraid of its any sort of protest.
He expressed these views while addressing ‘Youth Ikath’ (youth gathering) at Alhmra Hall; Food Security Conference at a local hotel and later taking to media here Wednesday.
The governor said that the country was now stabilising economically and at this stage, the protest demonstrations or sit-ins were in no way in the interest of the country. Water scarcity was fast increasing and looming war danger in the world, and effective practical steps were inevitable for water conservation. On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Special Assistant on Health Hanif Patafi, Dr Shafiq and others were also present.
Talking to media, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that matters have been sorted out with Q-League. MQM and Balochistan Awami Party were also strong allies of the government. People have mandated us to govern till year 2023 therefore completing constitutional term was our constitutional and democratic right.
To a question, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said ‘Maulana Fazlur Rehman can better tell that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi possesses what ‘Amanat’ (top secret) of Maulana.
As far as opposition’s protest is concerned, I will suggest the opposition to play its democratic role in and out of the parliament. Pakistan cannot afford any sort of agitation at this point in time. It was responsibility of all of us that we play our role to strengthen and stabilise Pakistan.
Addressing the function, the governor said that strengthening of Pakistan’s agriculture sector and maximum facilitation of farmers was indispensable to do away with economic challenges.
Unfortunately, the past governments made mere promises with farmers and practically their performance was zero. ‘We need to work more efficiently to increase our agricultural yields.
Insha Allah, we under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan will not only strengthen the farming community but also ensure provision of maximum facilities to them’. Water scarcity was not the problem of Pakistan only but becoming a grave global issue. General public and farmers also have a greater role in conservation of water for which they must fulfill their responsibility.
