Govt employees’ salaries increased by 25pc in Budget 2024-25?

ISLAMABAD – A sigh of relief for government employees with big increases in salaries that could impact on their lives and families as government is taking measures to pass on relief in Budget 2024-25. Pakistan’s federal cabinet has approved 25pc salary increase for public sector employees.

Salaray Increase for Govt Employees

The 25 percent incremenet applies to employees of Grade 1 to 16. Additionally, the government has approved a 22% raise for employees in Grade 17 to 22.

Furthermore, pensioners will get 15 percent hike in Budget 2024-25.

Budget 2024-25

The coalition government is preparing to announce its first budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. There are reports of tax increases as Pakistan seeks another loan package from the IMF. The budget, with a total outlay of Rs18 trillion, will be presented by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in the National Assembly. The budget focuses on addressing economic challenges by alleviating people’s hardships, modernizing agriculture, promoting IT, boosting exports, stimulating industrial growth, and strengthening businesses. The government aims to set a revenue collection target of over Rs.12 trillion for the fiscal year 2024-25.
