Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has decided to functionalize the projects phase wise as part of the establishment of new colleges and healthcare institutes in the province directing that the new buildings completed for this purpose should immediately be handed over to the concerned departments so that delivery of services could be initiated in the institutions established under the public interest.
He further directed to ensure the transfer of available land in Kabal (Swat) to concerned department in order to initiate construction of buildings for Women University and Engineering University Swat.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding ongoing and new projects in education and health sectors. Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai, Minister for Agriculture Mohibullah Khan, Principal Secretary to the CM Shahab Ali Shah, Administrative Secretaries of the respective departments, Vice Chancellor Agriculture University and other officials of the concerned institutions attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed about the progress made so far on the ongoing development projects in Swat and told that the building of Dental College Swat will be completed by the end of upcoming December, after which the classes would formally be launched.
In addition, arrangements are also completed to launch admission process by January 2020 under the Agricultural University Swat, but the identification of land for the permanent building of University is yet to be decided.
The Chief Minister underlined the need for timely identification of suitable site by reviewing the land already available in Barikot and Lal Kho so that construction of the university could be started.
He also directed for establishment of building of PEEDS Hospital on the land available in Kabal. The meeting also reviewed the progress on the first phase of Swat Motorway and preparations for starting work on the second phase. Mahmood Khan directed to finalize all the modalities and arrangements to start physical work on the second phase of Swat Motorway Project as soon as possible emphasizing that realistic timelines should also be fixed in order to timely start and completion of this important project.
