Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Friday said that opposition’s “Safe corruption” campaign has been badly exposed. He said that opposition should avoid dreaming of early elections. The corruption of past rulers caused damage to national economy besides increasing inflation in the country.
Government would not be pressurized as no leniency would be given to those involved in corruption. The Governor said that the Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would complete its constitutional tenure of five years.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by Punjab Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhry, MNA Nasrullah Drashek, Nawabzada Feroz Khan and others at Governor’s House. Chaudhry Sarwar said that opposition parties could not pressurized the government as through their protests or sit-in but they would foil as the nation believed that no one can pressurize Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was fairly committed to eliminate corruption from the country and he would be succeeded in his mission as elimination of corruption from grassroots was necessary for progress and prosperity of the country, maintaining that every step as per law and the Constitution would be taken in this regard. He said that the government was not afraid of any protest or sit-in of the opposition, adding that the opposition was working on a policy for causing damaging to protest economy.
Governor on Friday contacted Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on phone and decided to utilize all available resources for providing best medical facilities to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Services Hospital. The Governor and chief minister also discussed the current situation regarding Nawaz Sharif’s health and visit of Maryam Nawaz at Services Hospital to inquire about the health of Nawaz Sharif. It was also decided that Maryam Nawaz Sharif would be allowed to visit Services Hospital for inquiring about Nawaz Sharif’s health.
