Calls Imran a ‘liar and coward’

Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday alleged that a Gilgit-Baltistan “force” was employed to attack Punjab police as they tried to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.

The minister’s presser came as clashes between PTI workers and law enforcement agencies intensified for the second day, as the Punjab police tried to arrest Imran after an Islamabad sessions court issued a non-bailable arrest warrants against him.

Marriyum claimed that Imran wanted ‘anarchy and chaos across the country’, adding that the incumbent government had nothing to do with his arrest. She further said that if the government wanted to arrest him, they had state powers in place, as the “same powers Imran used to jail his political opponents”.

Commenting on the claims of a security bond in the case, the minister said that the court issues a warrant and then orders relief, and if it wanted to provide relief then it would not risk the heads of police officials.

She added that Imran Khan was a “liar” and that there was no security bond.

Marriyum said that the former prime minister, “a coward, foreign agent, Toshakhana and watch thief, father of Tyrrian White and a criminal” was in contempt of court and on the run from the police.

The minister added that the Khan caste was brave and honest, and advised that Imran should not be given the surname “Khan” but be called “jackal”, for Khans do not use the innocent as their shield.

She said that the people of Pakistan should know that Imran was wanted in cases pertaining to foreign funding, Tyrrian White’s paternity, the Toshakhana case, and for threatening a judge.
