French Sorbonne University awards doctorate degree Pak student hailing from Mianwali

The Sorbonne University of France has awarded the “PhD in Computer Networking” degree to Muhammad Imran Syed, a brilliant Pakistani student hailing from remote Nauranga village of Mianwali District.

As the degree was awarded to Imran Syed, his father Syed AqeelHussain Shah who is Press Attaché, French Embassy Islamabad was visibly moved. He was beaming with joy to see the moment of accomplishment for his son.

He was attending the convocation ceremony along with the parents, relatives, peers and degree recipients in the University’s auditorium witnessing his son receive the degree.

This is a moment I had dreamed all my life and I must give credit to my son and his passion for studies, hard work and dedication that he attained the prestigious degree, said Syed AqeelHussain Shah while talking to Pakistan Observer.

Imran Syed successfully defended his PhD thesis on September 5, 2023.

After obtaining BSc in Telecom Engineering from Bahria University Islamabad with silver medal, he earned his first MSc in Mobile and Satellite Communications with distinction in his research paper on 4G, from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom, and the second in same field under a scholarship from the European Institute of Technology (EIT), spending one year in Berlin, Germany and the second one at Sorbonne, France.

Soon after his second Masters, he was fortunately selected against only one post of PhD in Computer Networking at the Sorbonne University Paris on scholarship.

During three years of PhD, his five research papers were approved, presented in conferences and published in different international journals.
