Flood victims get Rs18.64m compensation amount

The district administration is taking tangible measures for providing compensation to flood-affected people across the district. In this regard, Additional Assistant Commissioner Tank Jamshed Alam Khan visited the Bank of Khyber to review arrangements and oversee the disbursement of compensation amount to the flood victims.

AAC was briefed about the entire process and informed that Bank of Khyber had Rs18.64 million have been paid to 70 flood-affected families during the last two days. Of these, it was said that 39 families have been paid Rs 160,000 each while 31 families were given Rs 400000 each.

The Bank officials said that the process of payment to the remaining eligible flood-hit families was underway. On this occasion, the Assistant Commissioner directed the bank officials to ensure timely payments of relief funds to help the victims as soon as possible and added that the provincial government and the district administration had taken effective measures to carry out the task in a transparent and peaceful manner.
