The Chancellor has appointed five Vice Chancellors of the medical universities in sheer violation of the apex court orders and the procedure laid down by the law. An aggrieved senior professor of medical university has approached court to seek justice and court has fixed the petition for hearing on September 07 next month.

Earlier gross violation by the Punjab Government was committed in the recent appointments of Vice Chancellors of 5 Medical Universities, namely University of Health Sciences, King Edward Medical University, Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Faisalabad Medical University and Rawalpindi Medical university. The Chancellor approved the same recommendations without fulfilling the legal requirements, claimed the senior professor.

Recently the Government of Punjab, Specialized HealthCare and Medical Education Department, through Search committee conducted interviews of around 50 candidates for the above mentioned 5 medical universities in Punjab. Fifty (50) marks were for academics, experiences and research and 50 marks were for interviews.
