ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s top tax collection authority Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has integrated ePayment 2.0 into IRIS 2.0 for seamless tax transactions in Pakistan.

The new payment is an advanced digital payment system integrated within the IRIS 2.0 portal, which is aimed at simplifying tax payment process for individuals and businesses across the country of 240 million.

The new initiative is part of government’s ongoing efforts to modernize country’s tax infrastructure and enhance revenue collection through innovative digital solutions.

FBr now allows taxpayers to make secure, efficient online payments directly from their bank accounts using internet banking, ATMs, or mobile banking platforms. This eliminates the need for physical visits to banks, making the process more convenient and accessible for taxpayers nationwide.

The new payment system supports wide range of taxes, including Income Tax, Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty, and Withholding Taxes.

In previous years, taxpayers had to navigate between different portals for tax payments. ePayment 2.0 consolidates all payment functions within the IRIS 2.0 system, creating a unified, user-friendly interface that simplifies the entire process.

A standout feature of new system is generation of unique Payment Slip ID (PSID) for each transaction, allowing both registered and unregistered taxpayers to quickly complete their payments. After a successful payment, taxpayers will receive a Computerized Payment Receipt (CPR) via email and SMS, which serves as official proof of payment and can be easily accessed within the IRIS platform for future reference.

It also operates through secure, multi-step process, ensuring accurate and timely payments. Additionally, the platform includes a PSID search feature, enabling taxpayers to retrieve and verify their payment records easily, enhancing transparency and reducing the risk of errors.

Officials emphasized strategic importance of digital advancement in supporting tax compliance and improving operational efficiency. The system was inaugurated at PRAL Headquarters in capital, marking a significant milestone in FBR’s ongoing digital transformation journey. The launch of ePayment 2.0 speaks of FBR’s commitment to fostering a more business-friendly, compliant, and digitally progressive tax environment.
