Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhary visited the Huawei ICT Academy at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad on Friday 13th, December 2019.
The Academy at SEECS was established in 2017, it is one of the 14 Huawei ICT Academies established under the MOU signed between the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Huawei aimed at promoting the studies of advanced technologies and adopting the globally renowned university-enterprise cooperation model for course development, training and certification in HEIs.
Fawad Chaudhary held a short question and answer session with the students, exchanged ideas and took in their suggestions on how technology can be incorporated for the betterment of Pakistan and encouraged these future engineers to think about the everyday problems in Pakistan, and come up with innovative technological solutions to resolve them.
Pro-Rector Admiral Dr. Nassar Ikram & Principal and Dean of SEECS, Syed Muhammad Hassan Zaidi addressed the Minister, esteemed guests and students, updating them on the performance and success stories of the Huawei ICT Academy in the last three years.
Fawad Chaudhary visited the Huawei ICT Academy and met the students and instructors of the academy. The instructors working in the academy were trained by Huawei in routing and switching, and were required to pass the Huawei certified Academic Instructor certification exam before they started teaching in the academy.
