Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has affirmed that whatever the opposition does, the “future, government, and politics” lie with Prime Minister Imran Khan and expressed confidence in the government’s allies.

“Whether it is PML-Q, MQM or the BAP, they have always supported us and we look forward to the same in these crucial times too.” Addressing a press conference after PTI’s core committee meeting, the minister said that the PTI has rejected the Opposition’s “lotacracy” and their efforts to bribe the PTI lawmakers ahead of the no-confidence motion session.

He also said that “the government holds all the cards” and maintaining that no one from the ruling PTI would betray Imran Khan. “One move and the three jokers Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Asif Ali Zardari, and Shehbaz Sharif will see their end.”

Prime Minister Imran Khan has been holding regular meetings with his party leaders as the no-confidence vote inches closer. The motion has been submitted in the National Assembly. The date of the vote is, however, yet to be announced. The minister revealed that the prime minister has had two one-on-one meetings with Moonis Elahi and respects Chaudhry Shujaat like a brother.

He said that while the final decision of the National Assembly session remains undecided, he wants speaker Asad Qaiser to take a decision soon. “The party has unanimously agreed that we want to get done with it.”

There’s just this one thing, Chaudhry said. “We don’t want the OIC and vote to overlap.” The information minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s “real” war is different. “It’s about making Pakistan an independent country, just like what Quaid-e-Azam envisioned it to be.”

“Today, we are not a part of any bloc all because of the PM,” he said. “PTI’s struggle has always been independence. Independence to take decisions. Independence to have an uninfluenced foreign policy. What is the point of freedom if we can’t even take a stand?” Chaudhry affirmed that no one can blackmail the prime minister, referring to “opposition buying MNAs”.

The minister was positive that Imran Khan’s upcoming D-Chowk rally will be the “mother of all jalsas” and “determine Pakistan’s political future”.
