The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan asked United States to take notice of worst human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir and play its influential role to stop India for committing atrocities on Kashmiris. He was addressing “Kashmir Conference” organized by Friend of Kashmir at Texas in United States on Monday.
The Prime Minister said America being an important country in the United Nations Security Council, must come forward and help Kashmiris to exercise their right to self determination besides ending human rights trampling in occupied Kashmir and to reverse change of disputed status of held valley. He said Hitler has been reborn in Narriender Modi’s shape and this time innocent Kashmiris are the victims. “If Modi not stopped by the international community for Kashmiris genocide, Christians and Sikh community would be his next target”, Haider warned. Referring to the Line of Control situation, he informed that innocent children are being target through sniper guns by Indian forces. Indian Army is using banned cluster bombs on civilian population and casualties are being reported every day. The Prime Minister while welcoming the debate on Kashmir in UNSC said that Indian Parliament’s act of abrogation the special status of the disputed state is illegal and against the global body’s resolutions. P-5 countries must take serious note of massive human rights violations by Indian military and paramilitary forces in the held valley.
The Prime Minister added that Occupied Kashmir is under strict curfew and even the media was completely silenced with the closure of all communication systems like internet, phone services and transport. Schools, colleges, markets and offices had been closed for the last 15 days, depriving the people of their livelihood. “The situation could lead to great human tragedy if went noticed”, the premier warned. Raja Farooq Haider said abolishment of the special status of the disputed territory was an attempt to change the demography of the Muslim populated state, which would never be succeeded.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has met US President’s Adviser Sajjad Tarar in at Texas in United States on Monday. Talking to him he said that Kashmiri people were looking for the implementation of President Trumps’ mediation offer on the longstanding Kashmir dispute. Terming the US President’s mediation offer as a big advancement on the lingering dispute, AJK Prime Minister urged United States to play its role for resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council’s resolutions.
Raja Farooq Haider briefed Sajjad Tarar on the deteriorating human rights situation arising out from the Occupied Valley and Indian Army’s cluster bombing on civilian population at Line of Control (LoC). He said Kashmir dispute is not a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India but an unfinished agenda of partition plan of subcontinent.
Voicing concerns over the situation in occupied Kashmir, the AJK prime minister said the occupied territory has been turned into a prison by the Indian authorities. Speaking on the occasion, Sajjad Tarar said that US President Donald Trump believes in peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute. He condemned the Indian human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
