Explanation letters served on 13 LWMC officers over poor performance

Managing Director Lahore Waste Management Company Rao Imtiaz Ahmad and Deputy Managing Director Tariq Hussain monitored cleanliness condition of the city by visiting multiple areas unannounced. During the visit GM Operations Sohail Malik also accompanied them. They visited Samnabad, Yateem Khana chowk, Township, Johar town, Iqbal Town, Thokar Niaz Baig, Band Road, Sanda followed by Lorry ada and its vicinity.
MD LWMC directed the operations department to clear Lorry ada and its surrounding area by evening by submitting a formal report. He also stated that quality of work will be improved on any cost. MD LWMC said that officers should work hard or can go HOME; I will not tolerate negligence of any sort in this job.
He also added that my surprise visit will be a permanent feature and will implement carrots and stick method for all without any discrimination. Over unsatisfied cleanliness condition MD LWMC took serious notice and issued EXPLANATION to Manager Operation Rana Faisal, Anees Ahmad Janjua, Deputy Manager Operation Mariam Saleem, Hassan Khalid Assistant Manager Operation Saad Talal, Rai Shahid, Noman, Zonal Officer Iftikhar Ahmad, Farooq Subhani, Malik Yusuf, Tanveer Humayun, Rana Nadeem and Kashif John. Deputy Managing Director LWMC Mr. Tariq Hussain stated that department is ensuring timely lifting of solid waste from the city whereas citizens should also make sure they dispose of their waste properly instead of littering.
GM Operations also mentioned that LWMC will not tolerate any sort of illegal dumping in the city and strict action will be taken against all those who are involved in such activity.
Head of Communication department Mr.Jamil Khawar said citizens should also cooperate with LWMC as it is social, moral and civic responsibility of every one and incase of filing complaint regarding waste citizens should dial LWMC Helpline 1139 or use LWMC mobile application Clean Lahore.
