ISLAMABAD – The federal government is expected to announce another cut in petroleum prices in next fortnight review for upcoming month of October 2024.
The government would announce the new rates on September 30 and they will come into effect from October 1, 2024.
Reports suggest that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would decrease the petrol and diesel prices by Rs3 per litre for the first fortnight of October.
Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan Till September 30
Earlier this month, the prime minister had approved a major cut in the prices of petrol, diesel and other key petroleum products for the second half of September 2024.
The petrol price was slashed by Rs10 per liter. Diesel price was cut by Rs13 rupees. Kerosene oil will become cheaper by 11.15 per liter, while light diesel oil will see a reduction of 12 rupees and 12 paisas per liter.

New Petrol Prices in Pakistan From October 1
If the government approves Rs3 per litre cut in petrol and diesel prices, the new rates would be Rs246.10 and Rs246.69 per litre, respectively.
The final decision, int this regard, will be taken by the government by the end of September 2024.
