In a special seminar held at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) to mark World Day Against Child Labour, Former Provincial Minister and President of UMT, Ibrahim Murad, emphasized the need for decisive action to eradicate child labour through education and effective legislation. The event was attended by a significant gathering of faculty, staff, and students.During his address, President UMT Ibrahim Murad underscored the importance of safeguarding young children, who are the architects of the nation’s future. He stated that preventing child labour requires concrete measures, and the most viable solution lies in providing education and enacting robust laws. He emphasized that strict actions must be taken against those involved in child labor to ensure that children hold books instead of tools.
Former Minister Ibrahim Murad urged the government to guarantee free, quality education for the younger generation as a means to combat child labour. He further advocated for both national and international campaigns to completely eradicate this social evil, making a heartfelt appeal to address the fundamental causes of child exploitation and abuse.
President UMT also acknowledged the critical role of NGOs in the fight against child labour, noting that they can play a pivotal part in its eradication. He stressed the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to implement various measures for protecting children’s rights and ensuring a bright and safe environment for future generations.
