Dr Ghulam Hussain grieved over death of Mumtaz Bhutto

Former federal minister and ex-Secretary General of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Dr Ghulam Hussain has expressed his heartfelt sorrow and grief over demise of former Chief Minister and ex-Governor of Sindh Mumtaz Ali Bhutto.

In a condolence message, Dr Ghulam Hussain said Bhutto was one of the founding members of the PPP.

Dr Ghulam Hussain who himself is among the founding members of the PPP, paid rich tributes to late Bhutto for his contributions to democracy and for being instrumental in PPP’s countrywide victory in elections in 1970s.

Mumtaz Bhutto a close aide of his cousin Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto though parted ways with PPP later in 1989, yet his influence in the party in Sindh and his role in the provincial politics made him relevant till last day of his life.

Dr Ghulam Hssain said Mumtaz Bhutto was an upright man and his services to the country and commitment to the people of Sindh remained salient characteristics of his politics.

‘Mumtaz Ali Bhutto served the nation with complete devotion and dedication,” said Dr Ghulam Hussain in his message. Mumtaz Ali Bhutto died on Sunday after a prolonged illness. He was 87.
