Director of the British Council (BC), James Hampson visited the Islamabad College for Girls (ICG) F-6/2 on Wednesday and examined the latest methods and modes of learning launched recently by the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training (MoFE&PT) there.
It may be mentioned here that the MoFE&PT has recently launched a landmark project aimed at equipping school children with cutting-edge skills in emerging technologies.
The project envisages establishment of “Emerging Technology Centres” in 350 schools across Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and GilgitBaltistan.
Besides, the students are being trained in different initiatives which are part of the government’s strategic planning to strengthen its initiative to make Pakistan a global IT destination.
These interventions include Software Technology Park, Google Classroom, Podcast and Culture Room , Robotics lab, Health room, Library, Mind Sports room and IT labs. Federal Secretary Ministry of Education briefed the guest about these initiatives.
Mr James Hampson interacted with the students and exchanged ideas about their education and extracurricular activities. According to an official of the Ministry, the BC Director was impressed to find the students quite updated.
He also commended the talent and confidence of our primary school girls, the official further said.
