A roadside explosion targeting police force in Lower Dir district on Wednesday left at least four cops seriously wounded.
Reports reaching here say a remote controlled bomb planted at road side in Lajboke Byari area in Lower Dir was detonated by the unknown terrorists when the police patrolling van reached nearby. The blast that also badly damaged the police van, resulted in serious injuries to at least four men in uniform.
“A remote-controlled bomb blast left four policemen wounded in Lajboke Byari as their vehicle was targeted by unknown miscreants”. District Police Officer Dir told media men adding the police van was on routine patrolling in the area.
Heavy contingents of law enforcers were dispatched to the site of the blast who immediately cordoned off the area and kicked off rescue operation as the victims were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
The security forces are also reported to have kicked off search operation in the adjoining areas to nab the culprits who remained at large as usual.
It may be recalled that at least five persons including a child had lost their lives while more than a dozen others had sustained serious injuries when a powerful blast had ripped through a bazaar in Upper Dir district on August eighteen.
