DG Rangers review Chehlum security measures

A high-level meeting was convened at the Sindh Rangers Headquarters under the chairmanship of Director General Rangers Sindh Major General AzharWaqas to review the security arrangements and overall law and order situation in Karachi, with a special focus on preparations for the upcoming Chehlum processions.

The meeting saw the participation of Additional IG Karachi, Joint DG Intelligence Bureau (IB), DIGs from various departments including CTD, Special Branch, East, West, South, CIA, Traffic, and officers from the police, Rangers, and intelligence agencies. DIGs from Sukkur and Hyderabad also joined via video link.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on enhancing security measures for Chehlum processions across the province. It was decided that joint flag marches and snap-checking operations by the Rangers and police will be intensified. Additionally, the security of entry and exit points at all gatherings, majalis, and processions will be ensured.
