WHILE reports are widely circulating of backdoor talks between Pakistan and India to take matters towards normalisation, there is unfortunately no end to oppression and atrocities in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In the latest condemnable incident, Indian forces targeted a mosque in Shopian area of IIOJK with heavy weapons and grenades.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry in a statement said this inhuman conduct of Indian forces is reflective of their moral bankruptcy as well as prevalent culture of impunity in IIOJK.

Indeed this is the not the first time that a religious place of Muslims has been attacked in the occupied territory.

In the past also one saw Indian forces setting ablaze mosques and also stopping local Muslim population from offering their prayers. Such incidents only hurt sentiments of Muslim population.

What is really surprising is total apathy of international community towards such despicable acts.

New Delhi never gets tired of blowing the trumpet of being a secular state yet under Modi regime no minority is safe in India.

The way Muslims have been massacred and their rights usurped under different pretexts over the last few years is known to everybody but out of political and economic expediency, world has turned its back to these Indian crimes against humanity.

Had such sort of crimes been committed in any Muslim country against followers of other religions, this would have attracted not only verbal condemnation but also strict action.

In our view, India is in no mood to bring the situation towards normalcy in IIOJK and the latest incident is a clear reminder.

Pakistan should stick to its stance and should not enter into any dialogue with India until it shows seriousness for resolution of all outstanding disputes.
