International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) of Pakistan was conceived after the successful conduct of first international Pakistan Naval Defence Show 1999 which was held at Karachi from 22 – 25 February 1999. First IDEAS was held in 2000 and subsequent IDEAS were organized biennially. The International Defence Exhibition and Seminar is a premier defence industry show and the region’s best platform for international defence systems promotion.IDEAS exhibits a wide variety of defence systems, ranging from equipment used in the third world countries to the most sophisticated technology from the west and showcases technology of tomorrow and innovations in defence with several thousand weapon systems and items of equipment on display.
The event provides an ideal interactive platform for defence forces to access the best products and technologies available to cater for their respective defence requirements. It is the most important market place for presenting innovative ideas. It facilitates meetings and networking sessions with numerous high-profile delegates, policy makers, diplomats and defence procurement experts all in one place. Its participation and international attendance is indeed manifestation of our deeply embedded and mutually beneficial relations with international fraternity. In fact, IDEAS is a shared vision for global peace, stability and prosperity.The 11th edition of the biannual international event International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) is scheduled to be held here at Karachi Expo Centre from November 15. A large number of buyers and other visitors are expected at this defence expo of international importance being organised after a gap of four years instead of scheduled time of two years owing to security threats followed by global pandemic outbreak and consequent restrictions. The event would serve to achieve the shared objectives of global peace, stability and balance.
In the upcoming exhibition, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, USA and the host Pakistan are setting up their special country pavilions in the Expo Center.Stalls include Pakistan Army Poly, Armed Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, National Logistics Cell, Anti-Narcotics Organization, Frontiers Organization, Counter-IDD Organization and Directorate of Mill Training. More than 200 stalls of local and foreign companies will go to the exhibition. During the exhibition of ideas for sale of Pakistan in defence, major defense products including Al Khalid tank, JF-17, jet trainer aircraft K-8ORUAV have been developed for display.
