Protest demonstrations were held in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the anti-people policies of the authorities.
Residents of Nigli area of north Kashmir’s Sopore town protested against the Water and Power Department for its failure to provide them drinking water. Scores of women took to the streets and blocked the Tarzoo-Sopore road in Nigli area to raise their concern on the water crisis in the locality. The protesters raised slogans denouncing the concerned department’s inefficiency. The inhabitants, including women, of the Surankote town of Poonch district in Jammu region held a demonstration against the same department, demanding restoration of water supply in the town.—KMS
