NEW DEHLI – The Supreme Court of India on Friday approved the bail of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case.

According to Indian media, the Supreme Court declared the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister of Delhi, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the liquor policy case as unjustified and ordered his release on bail.

Following the Indian Supreme Court’s decision, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to be released from imprisonment after six months.

Despite being granted bail, Indian media reported that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would not be able to visit his office or sign any official documents without the Lieutenant Governor’s permission.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in the liquor policy case, and his bail requests were rejected multiple times.

However, during the Indian elections in April, the court had granted him temporary release to run his election campaign.
