A delegation of Pak-American business council led by its President Jamal Meer called on Minister Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal at Civil Secretariat today. New industrial policy of the province, revival of cottage industry, steps taken for the promotion of investment and ease of doing business were discussed in the meeting.
President Pak American business council Jamal Mir said that the steps taken by the Punjab government for the promotion of business activities are commendable and we will take full benefit of the investment-friendly environment in Punjab. While talking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that the biggest industrial state of the country is being set up in South Punjab. Industrial state being set up over the land of 20 thousand acres in Layyah and Muzaffargarh will generate economic activities in the region.
He urged the investors to invest in Punjab, every possible facility will be given to them. Investors can also set up their own industrial estate if they have land more than 50 acres and the government will help to get its special economic zone status from the federal government. He told that Punjab registration portal has been prepared for the online registration of the companies.
Tax collection system is also being ease and all the taxes are being clubbed, inspector less regime has also been introduced, he added. Mian Aslam Iqbal said that loaning program for the skilled youth is also being launched within two weeks. The government has also evolved a plan to revive cottage industry in 36 districts of the province, he concluded. Secretary Industries and other officers of the department were also present in the meeting.
