ISLAMABAD – Disruptions and slow internet speed continue to irk millions of Pakistanis for months, and a recent statement by the Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Division got everyone’s attention.
Syed Sajid Mehdi, former MNA and current Parliamentary Secretary came up with an ‘Out of the box’ solution as he urged Pakistanis to cut down internet usage to key matters only amid the internet slowdown.
Speaking on a local news channel, Mehdi literally compared ‘Apple with Oranges’, saying massive use of internet is like passing through a congested road, explaining that just as traffic slows down when too many vehicles use the road, internet speed suffers from overload.
He linked disruptions and slowdown with massive usage of the internet, which according to his bizzare theory causes congestion, much like a road meant for limited vehicles.
The senior politician also pointed out that Pakistan’s fiber network operates at only 15pc of its capacity, far below India’s 45pc, but assured people that efforts were underway to resolve the issue.
He even ruled out concerns raised by Pakistan Software Houses Association which sounded alarm about the situation causing financial losses. He stated that no official complaints had been filed regarding such losses.
