RIYADH – Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is interested in converting to Islam, former goalkeeper for Saudi club Al-Nassr Walid Abdullah revealed it in an interview.

Speaking on a TV show, Abdullah, who has played alongside Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, shared that the star footballer has shown a deep interest in Islamic teachings and Saudi Arabian culture.

He claimed that Ronaldo has expressed a desire to embrace Islam, and he has had conversations with him about it.

He added that Ronaldo has even performed a Sajda on the field after scoring goals and encouraged his teammates to pray and follow Islamic traditions.

Abdullah also disclosed that whenever the Azan was heard during training sessions, Ronaldo requested the coach to pause it so that his fellow players could offer the prayers.

He recalled that when Ronaldo had performed a Sajda after a goal while playing for Al-Nassr in May 2023, all the players on the team collectively chanted “Allahu Akbar.”

He emphasized that whether Ronaldo converts to Islam or not, his discipline and hard work have taken him to the level of success.
