In Central Research Lab, Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has been established BSL Level 3 under the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar, where according to the World Health Organization’s guidelines; PCR tests of Corona Virus patients would also be undergone.
According to the details, about 300 tests will be performed in 24/7 round the clock and soon the number will be increased upto 500, daily.
Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Professor Dr Sardar Muhammad Alfreed Zafar while speaking at the inauguration of BSL Level 3, Central Research Lab at the LGH said that Dr Ghazala Ruby, Director Research Lab PhD will only be authorized to attest the report issued by the Lab for Corona Virus.
He said that to all patients of Corona Virus would be able online and can get test prints wherever they wanted. Medical Superintendent Lahore General Hospital Dr Mahmood Salahuddin, Medical Superintendent Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences Dr Ali Razzaq, Dr Irfan Malik, Dr Amana Asif and other senior doctors were also present.
On this occasion, Prof Alfreed Zafar told the media that the team of Punjab Healthcare Commission has reviewed the arrangements of BSL Level 3 established by the Punjab Healthcare Commission and expressed satisfaction that the lab was being maintained in accordance with the international standards.
He further that all technical laboratory staff has been equipped with regular training and PPE has been provided to them before starting Corona Virus diagnostic tests. He said that the way in and out of the lab would be separately and that all the SOPs of the Health Department would be ensured in this regard.
Prof Alfreed Zafar said that no person would be allowed to come to the lab and only will be authorized will be allowed to come and work in this lab.
