Complaints of misconduct against SC judges declared baseless

Complaints of misconduct against former chief justice of Pakistan, Justice ® Umar Ata Bandial and sitting Supreme Court judge, Justice IjazulAhsan have been dismissed as baseless.

Supreme Court judge, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood dismissed the complaints of misconduct against two judges as baseless.According to sources, complaints of misconduct were filed against former CJP Bandial and Justice Ahsan by ordinary citizens. Sources said Justice Masood gave legal opinion on the complaint against both the judges. Another complaint of misconduct against former chief justice SaqibNisar was also declared baseless.

It bears mentioning here that earlier this year, the parliament also decided to file a reference against then chief justice on the charge of misconduct.

PPP’s ShaziaSobiaSoomro moved a motion to form a special committee to file a reference against then CJP Bandial, and her motion was approved by a majority vote.
