The Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani has urged upon the citizens to proactively participate in current tree plantation campaign to make the city green and clean and plant a tree individually. This he said while performing a tree plantation campaign at his office under clean and green Pakistan by Rotary Platinum Karachi here.
The Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani while talking to media men has said that the campaign by Rotary platinum was a good initiative in which civil society and all stake holders of the city are participating vigorously to create environmental awareness throughout the city to face the challenge of climate change, it would be extended across the city phase wise all parks, grounds foot paths etc would also be covered to promote tree plantation among citizens. He said that not only Pakistan even Asia and west had also taking war footing steps to face the climate change issues.
Amazon was contributing 20 percent of oxygen all over the world to counter the environmental pollution. City of Karachi will not get its glory through the lights but through the plantation in a result-oriented goals, he concluded. President Rotary Karachi platinum Rizwan Adhia, Gen sectary.
