In response to the ongoing challenges of electricity supply and load shedding in Karachi, a significant high-level meeting was convened jointly by the Sindh government and K-Electric. Chaired by Energy minister Syed NasirHussain Shah representing the Sindh government and CEO K-Electric MonisAlvi, alongside regional delegates, were actively engaged in discussions aimed at finding viable solutions. Key outcomes of the meeting included the establishment of a collaborative committee tasked with addressing issues related to load shedding and devising strategies to enhance the city’s electricity supply infrastructure.
This committee will focus on implementing practical measures to reduce load shedding, particularly during peak demand periods, and ensuring timely bill payments to support uninterrupted electricity provision.
Of paramount importance was the commitment to achieving equitable distribution of electricity across the city, especially during heatwaves, underscoring the necessity for cooperation between stakeholders.MonisAlvi reiterated the critical role of consistent bill payments in sustaining uninterrupted power supply, emphasizing the interconnectedness of timely payments and service reliability.
