RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Wana to assess the current security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, the military’s media wing said.

A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said Army Chief received a detailed briefing on security operations and development initiatives in the region. He interacted with officers and troops, and praised high level of preparedness and morale among the forces, reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s dedication to countering threats from hostile forces.

He also paid tribute to security forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) who have made the ultimate sacrifices in the line of duty.

COAS Asim Munir committed to providing continued support and technical assistance to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to enhance their operational capacity. He also recognized the crucial role of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa populace in maintaining peace and advancing projects under the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan, highlighting the Army’s dedication to the region’s prosperity.

Expressing gratitude towards tribal elders for their steadfast support in combating terrorism, COAS Munir laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument to honor the martyred security personnel. He was warmly received by the Commander of Peshawar Corps upon his arrival.

This visit underscores the Pakistan Army’s ongoing commitment to ensuring security and fostering development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
