Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved a substantial Rs520 million fund for the establishment of a Pediatric Cardiac Unit at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD). This unit will occupy two floors of the new building currently under construction, with the CM urging expedited completion of the project. Additionally, Rs628 million has been allocated for the procurement of a state-of-the-art MRI machine, further bolstering the institute’s diagnostic capabilities.
The decisions were made during the 82nd Governing Body meeting of the NICVD, held at the CM House. Key attendees included Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, MPAs Sadiya Javed and Rukhsana Parveen, Secretary Finance Fayaz Jatoi, Secretary to CM Raheem Shaikh, Secretary Health Rehan Baloch, Executive Director NICVD Dr. Tahir Saghir, and other notable members. The GB considering the heavy workload of peads cardiac patients decided that two floors of the new building would be functionalized for Peads cardiac treatment.
