Civil society draws UN’s attention to curbs on all freedoms in IIOJK

The Civil Society has expressed grave concern over the continued anti-Kashmir policies of BJP regime in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The Civil Society members including Dr Bashir Ahmed, Showket Ahmed, Farhman Ghani Bhat, Zahoor Ahmed, Abdul Majeed, Muhammad Khalid, Abdul Raouf, Naseema, Dr Saira Mir and Dr Umar Rashid in a statement issued in Srinagar slammed the Indian government for its brutal tactics including detentions, attaching of lands, properties, dismissing of employees from their services, eviction and demolition drive, property tax and hiring of a blacklisted company to conduct examinations in the territory.

The statement said that the future of people of Jammu and Kashmir is uncertain under the undemocratic and puppet regime adding that the Modi regime is ruining the future of the generations of in Jammu and Kashmir. The members deplored that political and all other rights have been usurped by the regime while the whole territory is reeling under brutal military and police siege.

The situation of Jammu and Kashmir in general as quite fluid where good governance, accountability and transparency is missing from the scene and non-Kashmiri bureaucrats brought from India are involved in corruption in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Civil Society members urged the United Nations to take notice of the worst situation in Jammu and Kashmir where political leaders are jailed, media is gagged and journalists are silenced under black laws.—KMS
