The statement said that the future of people of Jammu and Kashmir is uncertain under the undemocratic and puppet regime adding that the Modi regime is ruining the future of the generations of in Jammu and Kashmir. The members deplored that political and all other rights have been usurped by the regime while the whole territory is reeling under brutal military and police siege.

The situation of Jammu and Kashmir in general as quite fluid where good governance, accountability and transparency is missing from the scene and non-Kashmiri bureaucrats brought from India are involved in corruption in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Civil Society members urged the United Nations to take notice of the worst situation in Jammu and Kashmir where political leaders are jailed, media is gagged and journalists are silenced under black laws.—KMS
