ISLAMABAD – Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to reaffirm the strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan.
In a statement released by the foreign affairs ministry on Monday, Dar emphasized the partnership between the two countries as an anchor of regional peace and stability.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepen bilateral relations and advance Phase II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as envisioned by the leadership of both countries.
Ambassador Jiang echoed these sentiments and highlighted China’s importance on Pakistan, expressing firm support for Pakistan’s socio-economic development, industrial and agriculture cooperation, and high-quality development of CPEC Phase-II.
Last week, a Chinese foreign minister spokesperson emphasized the significance of Beijing’s upgrading the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership to build an even closer community with a shared future in the new era.
The spokesperson also congratulated Mr Zardari on his assumption of the position of President of Pakistan and expressed China’s readiness to work with Pakistan to further traditional friendship and practical cooperation between the two countries.
