ISLAMABAD – Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong visited the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad, where he shared insights on China’s progress under President Xi Jinping the enduring friendship between ‘Iron Friends’, and the pivotal role of youth in shaping the future.

In his address, the envoy highlighted dedication and hard work, referencing Chinese traditions and President Xi’s perseverance during his youth, encouraging students to view their educational struggles as essential to happiness and success.

Responding to queries about China’s economic growth and its relevance to Pakistan, the Ambassador pointed out China’s rise as the world’s second-largest economy and praised Islamabad’s strategic advantages, including its location and natural resources. He urged students to align their personal ambitions with national development goals, echoing the words of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Ambassador reaffirmed the “iron-clad” friendship between China and Pakistan, highlighting robust political ties exemplified by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He emphasized that people-to-people exchanges have strengthened mutual relations, urging students to actively contribute to this legacy.

Sharing his views on global challenges, he noted that China and Pakistan are dedicated to fairness, justice, and multilateralism, with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) serving as a collaborative platform, and further mentioned ongoing efforts to enhance economic cooperation and promote a shared vision for a peaceful, prosperous future.

He praised Pakistani students’ enthusiasm for learning Chinese and announced a new initiative to send 1,000 Pakistani students to China for studies in modern agricultural technology. He urged students to seize educational opportunities to contribute to their nations’ advancements.

H.E. Mr. Zaidong also emphasized transformative power of youth, encouraging them to work diligently and maintain a vision for collective progress, calling youth the future of the country and the backbone of China-Pakistan friendship.
