Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Justice Javed Iqbal paid a visit to Regional Bureau office to review details of recoveries and disbursements in mega corruption Scams. He was thoroughly briefed by Director General NAB Lahore regarding updates in all cases concerned. Justice Javed Iqbal stated that bringing corruption at its logical end remains NAB’s priority and it is also a fact that NAB considers recovery of looted money from the corrupt elements as its prime responsibility.
While commenting over historical recovery worth billions of rupees by NAB Lahore in renowned Double Shah Scam and the disbursement of recovered money among thousands of affectees, stated that NAB’s Officers and officials are working tirelessly. He further said that recently NAB Lahore has distributed Rs193.59 million among Double Shah Scam affectees, whereas, another amount worth Rs360 million is ready to be handed over to the affectees.
He stated that in only Double Shah Scam, NAB Lahore has distributed more than Rs 1050 million (Rs 1.5 Billion) among thousands of affectees which has helped in establishing a positive image and trust of general public at NAB.
He expressed that as a collective recovery of NAB during last few months a sum of Rs 71 Billion has been recovered from ill- elements and the same is submitted into National kitty.
While reviewing updates in Housing Sector Cases, Chairman NAB expressed his satisfaction over the proceedings of NAB Lahore by saying that NAB has been giving particular focus to Illegal Housing Societies matters.
He admired that NAB Lahore remained successful in extending benefit to approximately 54,000 affectees, in this regard.
