Consul General Mark Stroh joined Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to witness a signing ceremony between the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department (SELD) and private Education Management Organizations (EMO).

Under these newly-signed agreements, the government of Sindh-selected EMOs will manage 13 new schools constructed by the United States and 19 other public schools in districts of Sindh including Karachi, Qamber-Shahdadkot, Kashmore, and Jacobabad.

“I am honored to attend the signing of these agreements that will result in better management of 32 more government schools in four districts of Sindh,” Consul General Stroh said.

“The USAID Sindh Basic Education Program, in partnership with the Government of Sindh, is helping improve access to education for the children of Sindh as well as the quality of education through public-private-partnerships.”

The USAID Sindh Basic Education Program is constructing 106 state-of-the-art schools in ten districts of Sindh (i.e. Dadu, Jacobabad, Karachi-Malir, Karachi-South, Karachi-East, Kashmore, Khairpur, Larkana, Qambar-Shahdadkot and Sukkur), helping thousands of Pakistani children meet their educational needs.

Chief Minister Shah expressed his appreciation for the U.S. Government’s support for education in Sindh.  Sindh Minister for Education, Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Archives Sardar Ali Shah also joined the event.
