Party workers started celebrations outside the residence of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in Islamabad, Lahore and Gujrat soon after the Supreme Court’s decision, on Tuesday night.
On the win of Punjab, former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary has said that they will now topple the federal government whenever they want.
Sweets were distributed among the gathering at the Elahi’s residence while the allied party—the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders including Mehmoodur Rasheed and Sadia Sohail Rana also shared their greetings with the winning candidate.
Workers of the PTI gathered outside the Supreme Court expressed their happiness by dancing on the drum beats and chanting slogans in favour of their party, Imran Khan and Ch Parvez Elahi.
Fawad Chaudhry congratulated the people of Punjab on the SC’s decision in favour of their candidate Parvez Elahi and said PTI has not taken any decision to return to the National Assembly yet.
While former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has said that a three-member bench including the Chief Justice of Pakistan gave a historic decision on Elahi’s constitutional petition against the rulers.
Sh Rasheed said the conspiratorial group held an abusive press conference in the Prime Minister’s House early today and used improper language against the courts.
The former minister said the occupying group that attacked the Supreme Court has been defeated. He saluted PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, whose hard work made this win possible.
Party leaders and workers including Amir Sultan Cheema and many others congratulated Parvez Elahi on becoming Punjab Chief Minister at his residence in Islamabad.
