Capital Development Authority has decided to establish first public sector cochlear implant center of country in the Federal Capital.
The facility has been named as CDA cochlear implant center and will be establisheded in the Federal Capital
Decision was taken by the CDA board during it’s recent meeting, CDA cochlear implant center will be an exclusive center for the treatment of deafness and ear related diseases , the intitative is based on the vision of Prime minister of Pakistan to provide better health care facilities to the citizens of Pakistan
Capital Development Authority had been running the only public sector cochlear implant program in the Islamabad since 2016 and was providing regular cochlear implant service to the patients from all over the country, but due to increase workload demand and lack of ample human resources, Capital Development Authority decided to establish segrated and exclusive facility for the treatment of deaf and mute population of the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that in line with the direction of Chairman CDA 10 beds in the near completion block in Capital Hospital have already been allocated for cochlear implant patients while funds amounting to rupees 80 million has also been allocated for purchase of latest equipments and upgradtion of operation theater.
