The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared as many as 185 residential projects and housing societies in Islamabad illegal.
Further, the CDA declared 24 housing projects and housing societies illegal in zone one, seven in zone two and 15 housing societies in zone three were also declared illegal.
According to the data of CDA, a maximum of 110 housing societies are illegal in zone four while the Capital Development Authority declared 29 residential projects in zone five illegal.
The Authority also identified illegal land subdivision in six sectors of the federal capital. According to the CDA, some housing societies outside Islamabad are also claiming to be in the limits of the federal capital and are busy in marketing for proving their projects as part of Islamabad.
However, CDA officials said such marketing is illegal without getting no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Authority while issuing warning that marketing agencies should refrain from advertising illegal housing societies.
For awareness, the CDA also warned the public to get confirmed legal status of plots before investing in any housing project.
There are two steps for approval of any housing society from the CDA while NOC can be issued after approval of layout plan and completion of other statutory requirements.
