LONDON – A British-Pakistani family was assaulted by police at Manchester airport by police officials as disturbing video of the incident has gone viral on social media with people demanding action against the cops.
Reports said the family, which also includes an elderly woman, reached Manchester from Qatar when they faced the ordeal.
Videos shows policemen pushing a man to floor, kicking him while the elderly woman can be seen trying to save her beloved one. Another member of the family can be seen sitting on a nearby bench with his hands tied.
The man who filmed the incident said around ten cops tortured the Pakistani family, adding that it caused panic among people and sparked stampede at the airport.
On the other hand, the Manchester police in a statement said two men were quarreling at the airport and when a female cop intervened she was assaulted, leaving her with broken nose.
They said four people have been arrested over violence at the airport, adding that five policemen have been suspended while investigation has been launched against seven cops in light of the viral video.
